"The mission of our Koshelek app is to replace the physical wallet and free users from plastic cards. The app allows you not only to add an existing plastic card but also to issue a new one — directly in mobile format. Users have already issued 49 million virtual cards in the app — that's 245 tons of plastic that we managed to "save" and avoid producing. We don't just digitize cards — we also send them for recycling. Over 200 Koshelek eco-boxes for unwanted cards have been installed in VkusVill stores in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, as well as at our environmental organization partners. Over the year since the initiative launched, we managed to collect more than 70,000 cards. When the boxes fill up, we collect the cards and deliver them to the Saint Petersburg recycler 7Other, which grinds them into powder. The secondary raw materials are then passed on to factories that manufacture construction materials from former plastic cards."
